I noticed a dramatic increase in smoothness while partying and doing maps, so I took it a step further and disabled 1 of my 4 cores to give me room to overclock even further, and am currently running the 3 cores stable at 4.4 GHZ, and I'm getting very little lag in the game in pretty much any circumstance. I overclocked my CPU to 4 GHZ, which with a lot of Intel chips that have come out in the last year or two is actually pretty easy and stable to achieve. So I looked at task manager and saw pretty much only 1 of my 4 cores was being used. I have an i5 2500k and a GTX 590, and when getting FPS drop in the game, my GPU usage was only 30% or so, which made me figure the burden was on the CPU instead. I know it's beta still and yet to be optimized, but I wanted to do what I could in the meantime. I have a high end system I built myself and I've never been too thrilled with the performance of this game when partying or with certain effects on the screen.
